The Grand Junction Fire Department responded to a report of a possible structure fire at 2770 B 1/2 Rd. First unit on scene (Engine 4), within 5 minutes of the dispatch time, reports visible smoke coming from the back side of the complex. Fire crews engaged in an initial fire attack to the outside of the structure stopping it from reaching the common attic area which would have caused extensive damage. Fire command on scene declared a full extinguishment after a thorough search of fire extension was complete.  There were no injuries to our firefighters or our citizens and no other structures were involved. The American Red Cross has assisted in the placement of 1 adult and 1 child due to all utilities to the complex being secured during the fire attack. This fire is still under investigation and all fire investigation questions should be directed to the GJFD Fire Marshall’s Office at 970-549-5851.
