The Grand Junction Fire Department was dispatched to a possible brush fire behind the residence at 774 23 Rd. Truck 3 (on scene within 7 minutes) reports that the fire is approximately 1 1/2 acres in size and has spread to the north side of the International Truck Dealership property. Lower Valley Fire Department was requested by the Grand Junction Fire Department to assist in the extinguishment of the fire. Lower Valley responded with their brush unit and water tender effectively eliminating the spread of the fire.  GJFD Engine 2 used their CAFS (Compressed Air Foam System) towards the back of the International Truck Dealership property extinguishing the blaze and saving the International equipment from the possibility of extensive fire damage. The fire is under investigation at this time. There were no injuries to the public or our fighters to report.

Please Remember: BURN SEASON STARTS MARCH 1st and you must obtain a Burn Permit from the Fire Administration building located at 625 Ute Ave. Burning without a permit can result in fines.
