Tonight GJFD Wildland Firefighting Team is beginning their response to the Beulah Hill Fire located southwest of Pueblo, CO.
Currently, eight homes have been lost in the fire and 779 homes have been evacuated affecting approximately 1,948 residents. A shelter has been established for residents at the Colorado State Fair Events Center.
The GJFD will be joining the efforts of 12 other responding agencies and 20 assisting agencies. Three wildland firefighters along with the Brush 4 wildland fire apparatus have been deployed to this event.
GJFD would like to remind local residents to burn responsibly by always supervising fires and being ready to extinguish a fire if necessary.
