GJFD Responds to assist CFD with Structure Fire

At 11:18 this morning the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to assist the Clifton Fire Department with a structure fire on the 300 block of 4th street.  The Grand Junction Fire Department responded with two fire engines and an ambulance with 9 personnel total.  The fire was quickly extinguished and occupants of the home were checked on the scene due to smoke inhalation.  No one was transported to the hospital.  Four adults and a number of pets were displaced from the home.  The Western Chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting the family with their recovery needs.  The cause of the fire is under investigation

Grand Junction Fire Department would like to remind the public that smoke detectors and emergency evacuation plans save lives. Check your detectors twice a year and practice your emergency exit plan with your family on a regular basis.
