GJFD Responds to Home Fire

The Grand Junction Fire Department responded this morning to a home fire in the 100 block of Landsdown Rd. When Engine 4 arrived on scene at 08:49 four family members and three dogs had evacuated the home safely. One person was evaluated by medical personnel.

Upon entering the home the fire was quickly isolated to the attic and extinguished in a matter of minutes. Four engine companies, one truck company, two ambulance crews, a Battalion Chief, and a Medical Officer responded to the fire. The American Red Cross of Western Colorado was dispatched to assist the family.

The Grand Junction Fire Department would like to remind the community to have working smoke detectors in your home and practice a home evacuation drill regularly with your family.
