At 21:16 the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to a structure fire in an apartment complex on the 600 block of Walnut Avenue. The call came in from a resident reporting a fire in their bedroom. Damage from the fire displaced numerous residents from the building. No one was injured.
Four engine companies, one truck company, two ambulance crews, a Battalion Chief, and a Medical Officer responded to the fire. The Red Cross responded to assist sheltering those impacted by the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
