At 01:31 the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire at 2915 Orchard Avenue. Flames rolled up the exterior of the building from the ground floor to the third floor. Several residents were displaced by the fire, with four apartments left uninhabitable. The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, the Grand Junction Police Department, and Clifton Fire Department all responded to assist. School District 51 provided access to Bookcliff Middle School for use as a temporary shelter. The Red Cross responded to assist residents displaced by the fire. There were no fire related injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
