At 1425 this afternoon the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to a home fire in the 2900 block of Highway 50. When crews arrived on scene, heavy smoke was seen coming from the house. After a search of the home it was determined that no people were inside the home and there were no injuries.
Four engines and a truck responded along with an ambulance, a medical officer, and a Battalion Chief. Central Orchard Mesa Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the home with the assistance of a water tender. Mesa County Victim Advocates and The American Red Cross responded to assist the displaced family with their recovery.
