At 1202 the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire on the 1000 block of Colorado Avenue. When the first crew arrived on scene, heavy smoke was seen coming from the structure. Five occupants of the home had evacuated when the first crew arrived. No one was injured in the fire. The dollar amount of damage to the home are unknown. Origin and cause of the fire are under investigation.
Three engines responded along with two ambulances, a medical officer, and a Battalion Chief. The Grand Junction Police Department responded to assist with scene control. The American Red Cross and a GJPD Victim Advocate responded to assist those displaced by the fire.
