At 1501 the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to reports of a brushfire near a business on the 700 block of Horizon Drive. At 1509 Engine Two arrived on scene and discovered a row of decorative trees and bushes on fire along the west side of a commercial building. By 1518 the fire was knocked down without causing any structural damage to the building. By 1535 crews on scene determined that the fire was extinguished and had not reached the interior of the building. No one was injured. The origin and cause of the fire is under investigation.
Three engines responded along with two ambulances, a brush truck, and a Battalion Chief. GJPD also responded to help with scene control.
