GJFD Saves Home From Fire

At 2031 the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to a shed fully engulfed in flames with fire threatening a home on the 500 block of 29 1/2 Rd. When crews arrived on scene no one was in the home. By 2039 the fire was extinguished and crews had managed to stop the fire from spreading to the home.

Three engines, one truck, one ambulance, a medical officer, and a Battalion Chief responded to the call. Mesa County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted with traffic control and the investigation. Xcel energy responded for electric lines that had been damaged by the fire.

The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation. For more information on this incident contact the Community Outreach Office at (970)549-5858 or by e-mail at GJFirePIO@gjcity.org.
