At 1400 The Grand Junction Fire Department responded to the 400 block of Niagara Cir. When crews arrived on scene everyone had evacuated the home safely. The fire, which started outside, had spread to a shared fence as well as the exterior and interior of the home due to high winds. Crews were able to get the fire under control and prevent further damage to the interior of the home, and to neighboring homes.
Three engines, a truck, an ambulance, a medical officer, and a Battalion Chief responded to the scene. GJPD assisted with traffic control, and Red Cross is assisting the displaced family of three. The dollar amount lost to the blaze is unknown and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
