GJFD Responds to Fire Outside Commercial Building

At 2:30 PM Grand Junction Fire Department responded to reports of a fire behind a local business in the area of 2400 Highway 6 & 50. When crews got on scene at 2:37 PM employees of the store had moved debris away from the building and were working with fire extinguishers to put the fire out. Crews were able to douse the blaze and fully extinguish the fire. No one was hurt, and damage was limited to the outside of a storage container.

Four engines, one truck, an ambulance and a Battalion Chief responded to the call. Grand Junction Police Department also responded to help secure the scene. Crews investigated the fire and were unable to determine the cause of the fire.
