At 7:44 PM the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to reports of an RV on fire in the 2800 block of North Avenue. When crews arrived on scene they found that the single occupant of the RV had escaped from the home. Neighbors were working to put water on the home, but the RV was fully engulfed in flames. Crews immediately began evaluating the person and confirmed that no one else was inside. GJFD was then able to quickly extinguish the fire and one person was transported to the hospital.
GJFD responded with Engine 2, Ambulance 2, Medic 1, Ambulance 6, Truck 1, Engine 4, and a Battalion Chief. The home sustained significant damage and the origin and cause of the fire are under investigation. GJPD also responded to the scene and provided security and traffic control.
