At 12:23 PM the Grand Junction Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire on the 2900 block of Gunnison Avenue. The fire spread from a shop on the property to vegetation in a nearby field. Individuals from the address called 9-1-1 and indicated that there was containers of propane and oxygen in the burning shop. GJFD units arrived by 12:31 PM and began putting out the blaze. Crews worked to remove and thoroughly soak any material that was still smoldering. The fire was fulling extinguished by 1:11 PM. There are no known injuries, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
GJFD responded with Truck 1, Engine 2, Truck 3, Brush 4, Ambulance 1, Ambulance 2, Ambulance 7, and Battalion 1.
