GJFD Responds to Camper Fire

At 5:27 PM the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to reports of a camper on fire in front of a residence on the 400 block of Doris Road. Initial dispatch report indicated that the camper was fully engulfed and the fire was threatening nearby homes and vehicles. GJFD crews quickly extinguished the blaze and checked nearby structures for any indication that the fire had spread. The fire was fully extinguished by 5:44 PM. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
GJFD responded with Engine 2, Engine 4, Ambulance 4 and a Battalion Chief, Mesa County Sheriff’s Office assisted with traffic control and scene safety.
