At 10:24 PM the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to reports of a residential structure fire on the 200 block of E Parkview Drive. Initial dispatch reports indicated that heavy flames and smoke was coming from the home and residents were attempting to put out the flames with a garden hose. The occupants were able to self-evacuate before crews arrived. GJFD crews made a defensive attack ensuring that the blaze would not spread to nearby homes. The fire was out by 10:53 PM. The home and a vehicle parked close to the structure suffered significant damage due to the fire. GJFD transported several individuals from the residence for evaluation. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
GJFD responded with Truck 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, Engine 4, Ambulance 4, and Battalion 1. The Grand Junction Police Department assisted with traffic control and scene safety. A Grand Junction Police Department Victim Advocate also responded to assist.
