GJFD Responds to Fire in Orchard Mesa

At 2:16 PM The Grand Junction Fire Department responded to reports of a residential structure fire in the 2700 block of Uranium Dr.  Initial dispatch reported a single story residence with smoke showing from the roof. Upon arrival units found a single family home with smoke coming from the attic with neighbors reporting that nobody was home. Crews on scene found heat sources in a bedroom and fire coming from the attic, a quick attack was made and crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire. Fire was under control and extinguished without incident at 2:30 PM. All parties were accounted for. Residence sustained damage to the attic.

GJFD responded with Truck 1, Engine 2, Truck 3, Engine 4, Ambulance 4 and a Battalion Chief. Two adult males are safe, however will be displaced.
