Injury Crash at 28 1/2 Rd and I70B

Emergency-911The GJFD and the GJPD responded to an injury crash at the intersection of 28 1/2 RD and I70B.  Two vehicles were involved and one patient was transported to SMH.  The cause of the accident is unknown and under investigation.  The intersection of 28 1/2 RD, I70B, and the Frontage RD will be closed while the GJPD investigates.

The GJFD responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident at 29 RD and Riverside Parkway.  Reporting parties indicated the crash involved a full size pickup truck and a smart car.  One patient required extrication and emergent transport.  The GJPD is investigating the incident.

The Grand Junction Fire Department has been awarded the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline EMS Silver Level Recognition Award!

From AHA: “The criteria to achieve the Mission: Lifeline EMS Silver award is based on meeting the applicable achievement measures annually with no single measure scoring below 75%. The individual measures are as follows:

  • Percentage of patients with non-traumatic chest pain > 35 years of age, treated and transported by EMS who receives a pre-hospital 12 Lead ECG.
  • Percentage of STEMI patients transported to a STEMI Receiving Center, with pre-hospital First Medical Contact (FMC) to Device (PCI) < 90 Minutes.
  • Percentage of STEMI patients transported to a STEMI Referring Center with Arrival (to Referring Center) to Fibrinolytic Therapy administration in <30 Minutes.

Collaboration among pre-hospital and hospital providers is the essence of Mission: Lifeline. The American Heart Association recognizes the vital importance Emergency Medical System providers contribute to the overall success of Mission: Lifeline STEMI Systems of Care. The correct tools and training allow EMS providers to rapidly identify the STEMI, promptly notify the destination center and trigger an early response from the awaiting hospital personnel.
